Introduction

I started working with stone in the farming community where I grew up in the west of Ireland, repairing field walls for farmers. My work diversified to include frontage walls, gateways, stone landscaping, rustic fireplaces and stone buildings, both dry-stone and mortared.

Types of Stonework

I pride myself on giving my clients authentic stonework. I utilise the natural properties of local stone from the areas that I work in to give my walls their beauty and strength. In this respect my craft is continuous with the Irish stone walling tradition and goes back thousands of years. My preference is to lay stone dry – without bonding agents because, if this is done professionally, such walls last longer as well as look better. However for some projects such as pillars and fireplaces, mortar is necessary.

Location

My business is now located in Kent, Connecticut.  However I am mobile and am willing to consider exciting projects anywhere.
