A thatched, dry-stone building built following traditional ways .

 

 

 

 

Thatching

 

 

Scraws (strips of sod) are cut

 

 

 

They are placed on the roof

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The roof is thatched with maran grass and rye pegged into the sod

using sallies (willow sticks)
